I'm one of those people who's always curious about things. How they work, what they do, and why. My eclectic interests have drawn me to explore many different mediums of art, from ceramics to oil painting, from glass blowing to digital art, from photography to music.
I have my B.A. in Fine Arts, with a dual major in Ceramics and Oil Painting.
I love carpentry, traditional woodworking and carving. I'm a self-taught blacksmith, and I'm currently teaching myself to weld. I work as an Agricultural Historian in my day job, specializing in 18th C. farming in S.E. Pennsylvania. I love to repair/restore old pieces of agricultural equipment, and to build reproductions, from stone boats to well-sweeps and A-frame harrows.
I'm also an avid scanographer and love to do digital manipulations of photos and scans.
So, you can see, I'm all over the place in my interests. I wouldn't have it any other way!
I'm not sure what a scanograph is, but this is just gorgeous. I love your photography and blog. So fun to find such a sensitive, creative, fun person about in cyber space. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I don't know how you found me, but I don't normally have strangers visiting. It was a real treat for me! Peace, Bethany
Thanks Bethany! A scanograph is similar to a photograph, but it involves arranging objects on the bed of a scanner and using that to capture the image. It imparts a sense of finite depth and deep, solid negative space around objects that photos don't catch. And I happened upon your page by clicking on a interest tag (digital art) in my main profile, and checking out who turned up. Glad to have found your page, too!
Reminds me of Rachel Ruysch.
